La Tolleranza speaks for a great 1998 concert performance from KS, with that late 90's combination of past and present sounds. The sequences make an interesting contrast to In Cosa Crede Chi Non Crede, or Just an Old-Fashioned Schulze Track. [...] In Praise of Idleness recalls the visions of space generated from such classics as Velvet Voyage yet the texture of the sound is firmly set in the 90s. In Crazy Nietzsche, we hear the great drumming of Harald Grosskopf, a pleasure even for those like me who rarely appreciate drum solos, interspersed with synth sounds, mixing finally into the beautiful sound of mellotron voices. Although many others have played the mellotron to grand effect, no can match KS' use of mellotron choir. This piece and the others from the "X" sessions (including Discover Trakl) may be the most anticipated from the announced list of previously unreleased tracks on The Ultimate Edition" Certainly these two predict some fine listening. I am looking forward to hearing the three Berlin tracks all together. Darkest Steglitz is fine complement to the dark 90s sound found on In Praise of Idleness. Just an Old-Fashion Schulze Track, Fürth?, 1975. I need to check my list of KS concerts in The Works. So much fine music, with considerable mystery. In cosa crede chi non crede? A fine piece, we would like to hear more, but I would not question KS' decision to prevent the full release of the soundtrack for inadequate technical quality. With so much to hear, why listen to technical faults that distract the listener. I do not hear any problem with this excerpt. Finally, Der Optimismus to remind us of the great breadth of KS' work. The Trailer is amazingly consistent in its tone, considering it takes into account music from 1975 to 1999. Der Optimismus hints at the many impressive yet more unusual tracks contained within The Ultimate Edition such as Narren des Schicksals and many many more. I don't have clue about the unannounced bonus track. I await the next Circle to learn more. All in all, a mouth watering collection, anticipating a landmark set. The collection of tracks fit together perfectly, a grand album in its own right.« (David M. Siers, USA) »Ich war total aus dem Häuschen, als ich Discover Trakl hörte. Mann, was für ein Titel! Bei den ersten Klängen schon holte mich der gute Klaus aus meinem Sessel, und dann... Obwohl Du ja generell eine glückliche Hand bei der Auswahl der Titel für die Stücke von Klaus beweist, hat selten ein Titel so gut gepaßt wie Discover Trakl. Ich hätte niemals erwartet, daß sich dieses Stück dahin entwickelt, vor allem, wenn man die Biographie von Georg Trakl kennt; es ist wirklich eine Entdeckung, obwohl keine unbekannte neue Welt für die Genießer von Klaus' Musik. Seitdem ich "X" kenne, ist dieses für mich das beste Werk der Musikgeschichte; einmalig und mit nichts vergleichbar. Und von der "X" gefällt mir eben Georg Trakl am besten. Aber das es sich dabei bisher nur um ein Fragment handelte, habe ich allenfalls geahnt, und Du hast ja vielleicht noch meine Nachricht in Erinnerung, wie begeistert ich schon auf eine mögliche lange Version reagiert habe. Aber wer von uns hätte gewußt, welche Freude da auf uns zukommt? Lieber Klaus-D. Müller, lieber Klaus Schulze, eigentlich müßte man Euch die Ohren langziehen, daß Ihr uns solch einen Schatz so lange vorenthalten habt. Just an old-fashioned Schulze Track, ja, das wollen wir doch alle! Und es gibt reichlich von dem "alten Kram" auf den verschiedenen Editions, nicht nur den von mir so geliebten Stück Georg Trakl.
